All full-time Stonehill faculty are invited to apply for the 2011-2012 Teaching and Learning Strategies Seminar.  Applications can be submitted online and are due December 1st.

The Teaching and Learning Strategies Seminar provides faculty the opportunity to critically reflect on their teaching in collaboration with their colleagues and in the context of the larger Scholarship of Teaching and Learning.

Come to the Community-Based Learning Open House!

The new Office of Community-Based Learning is hosting an Open House to introduce itself to faculty and community partners.

Wednesday, September 23, 3-5 in the Cleary Dining Hall

There will be light refreshments and a chance to meet the CBL staff, new & old faculty, as well as many community partners from the southeastern Massachusetts area.

CFP: Communication with/in Learning Communities

Angela Paradise in the Department of Communication passed on this call for chapters for an edited volume on Learning Communities proposed by Suzan G. Kiesel of University of Southern Indiana:

Based on conversations at the 2007 National Communication Association Conference, I am seeking chapters for an edited volume on communication with/in campus Learning Communities (LLCs). Defined broadly, a “learning community” is a group of students (sometimes sharing a major, sometimes not) who take part or all of their coursework together (usually for a semester or an academic year) and often share a living space. Essays might approach LLCs from a number of perspectives-organizational, rhetorical, interpersonal, pedagogical, cultural, and so forth-and utilize varied methodologies.
